FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Jason Marquis, who missed his last spring training start to tend to his ailing daughter, could be away from the Twins for a few more days, general manager Terry Ryan said Monday.
Marquis left the team after his nine-year-old daughter Reese was seriously hurt when she fell off a bicycle. He last pitched on March 19, but Ryan said he has been able to continue workouts while at home.
"I'm more worried about that girl than I am about him pitching," Ryan said.
The Twins haven't announced the order of their starting rotation, but it's expected that Marquis would pitch the third game of the regular season, on April 8 in Baltimore.
