Don Mattingly has declared to the Orange County Register that Enrique Hernandez will get the "first shot" at taking over as the starting second baseman for the Dodgers in the wake of a hamstring strain that has landed Howie Kendrick on the disabled list.
That should not be taken literally. Jose Peraza has been promoted and is set to start Monday at second. But Hernandez is starting in center and will apparently be used mostly at second.
