Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud has been placed on the 15-day disabled list. The 26-year-old was injured in Saturday's game against the Braves, and hasn't played since, due to a hyperextended left elbow.
d'Arnaud, who was officially diagnosed with a sprained elbow, is heading back to New York to meet with doctors after receiving an MRI on Monday in Milwaukee, according to ESPN.com.
The young backstop just recently returned from a two-month stay on the disabled list with a broken finger. He's hitting .267 with two home runs and seven RBI in eight games since returning in June 10.
Johnny Monell has been recalled from Triple-A to take d'Arnaud's place on the roster.
