The Mets have recalled catcher Johnny Monell from Triple-A Las Vegas, the team announced on Tuesday. Monell will be available off the bench for the game against the Brewers in Milwaukee.
The 29-year-old spent 12 games with the Mets earlier this season, but has had most of his reps with Las Vegas. In 41 games at Triple-A, Monell is batting .374 with five home runs and 34 RBI.
Monell will take the roster spot of Travis d'Arnaud, who was placed on the disabled list on Tuesday.
