The Rockies have placed Michael Cuddyer on the disabled list and recalled Andrew Brown from Triple-A.
Cuddyer, who has hit .260/.317/.489 with 16 home runs in 394 plate appearances in 2012, played just three games since being activated from the disabled list before reaggravating his right oblique. His previous stint on the DL cost him the first half of August.
Brown, a 27-year-old rookie spending his first year in the Rockies organization, has hit .308/.364/.597 with 24 home runs in 438 plate appearances at the Triple-A level this year.
The Cuddyer injury could mean more playing time for Charlie Blackmon, according to Troy Renck of The Denver Post. Blackmon has been filling in as a starter for Carlos Gonzalez, who was placed on the bereavement list Saturday.
