The Royals aren't looking for more prospects, and the Cubs are looking to deal their veterans.

- Jonathan Broxton, Yuniesky Betancourt, Jeff Francoeur and Jose Mijares will likely be available. GM Dayton Moore said the Royals aren't actively shopping those players, but expect to receive calls on them. Moore feels that the team is closer to being competitive, and wants major-league talent in return.
- The Cubs will likely sell off many of their veterans, according to the Chicago Tribune's Paul Sullivan. Ryan Dempster, Matt Garza, Carlos Marmol, Reed Johnson, Paul Maholm, Geovany Soto and Jeff Baker could be available. Johnson and Baker's days are numbered, as the Cubs have prospects Brett Jackson and Josh Vitters to replace them.
- The Orioles have made "significant progress" with draft pick Kevin Gausman, according to CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman. Heyman noted that a deal now seems likely. Friday is the signing deadline for recently drafted players.
