Two notes on relievers from Friday:
- The Athletics recalled reliever Jim Miller, Joe Stiglich of the Bay Area News Group reported. Miller previously appeared in 24 games for Oakland, recording a 2.16 ERA and a 1.67 K/BB in 33.1 innings. He will replace spot starter Tyson Ross on the roster.
- The Cardinals recalled reliever Brandon Dickson and optioned reliever Barrett Browning to Triple-A Memphis. Dickson, a 27-year-old right-hander, has appeared in two games for the Cardinals this year. He owns a 3.55 ERA with a sharp 3.56 K/BB at Memphis this season. Browning, a lefty, has struggled out of the Cardinals bullpen, posting a 5.12 ERA in 22 appearances.
