Nick Markakis has been activated by the Orioles, the club tweeted. The right fielder has been out since May 29 with a right wrist injury.
Markakis played the final game of a rehab assignment on Monday for Double-A Bowie, going 0 for 3 with a strikeout and a walk. The Orioles have optioned first baseman Joe Mahoney to make room on the 25-man roster for Markakis. Mahoney played just one game for the Orioles, going 0 for 3.
