With pitcher Ian Kennedy coming off the disabled list to start on Saturday, the Padres made room by sending left-hander Frank Garces to Triple-A, reports MLB.com.
In six relief appearances this season, Garces has allowed three runs in 14.2 innings (1.84 ERA).
