San Diego Padres pitchers Tim Stauffer and Dustin Moseley have chosen to become free agents after clearing waivers, according to U-T San Diego.
Both pitchers had been on the 60-day disabled list after making just one start apiece this season.
Stauffer had surgery in August to repair the flexor tendon in his pitching elbow. He was 23-31 in 96 games (70 starts) with a 3.94 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 304 strikeouts in 441 innings during his tenure with the Padres.
Moseley had surgery in April to repair a torn labrum and capsule in his pitching shoulder. In seven seasons with three different teams (Angels, Yankees, Padres), he's 15-21 in 101 games (53 starts) with 4.67 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 199 strikeouts in 358 1/3 innings.
