The Reds have optioned pitcher Pedro Villarreal to the minors Wednesday.
Villarreal pitched in two games with the club. In his brief appearance, he posted a 12.71 ERA. It marks the second time this season Villarreal has been optioned to the minors after one appearance in the majors.
