Rays DH Luke Scott has hit the DL with mid-back stiffness, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The move was made retroactive to Friday, June 8, and Scott believes he'll be able to return when first eligible on June 24.
On the season, Scott is hitting just .220/.281/.424, although he's been effective against right-handed pitching. The Rays have not yet made a corresponding roster move, but Hideki Matsui will likely serve as the every-day DH in Scott's absence.
