Rays pitcher Matt Moore was making in his first start in 14 months Tuesday against the Indians and Moore started off strong, but he could not get out of the fifth inning during the 5-4 loss.
Moore allowed one run in his first four innings, but was pulled after giving up three runs in the fifth. He finished the game allowing four runs on six hits over 4 2/3 innings. He also struck out four and walked two. He received a no-decision and his ERA is now 7.71.
Before Thursday, Moore had not pitched during the 2015 season as he recovered from Tommy John surgery in 2014.
"It actually felt a little more normal," Moore said, per MLB.com. "From not only warmup, but from pitch one to [Jason] Kipnis. I feel like I was able to feel myself driving that ball down and away to him so that was nice to feel. I kind of thought there might have been more nervous body type issues, but really it felt normal."
