Rays executive vice president Andrew Friedman said the team is looking to add one or two more relievers for 2013, according to Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times.
The Rays have already subtracted two pieces of the 2012 bullpen in offseason trades, dealing right-hander Wade Davis to the Royals and right-hander Burke Badenhop to Brewers. While the team did re-sign right-hander Joel Peralta, left-hander J.P. Howell and right-hander Kyle Farnsworth are two other 2012 Rays who remain on the free-agent market.
With multiple teams interested in Howell as one of the better left-handers still available, his return to Tampa Bay is far from certain.
