Reds shortstop Zack Cozart has left Monday's game after being hit in the head with a pitch from Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley.
The 89 mph fastball hit Cozart in the helmet and the Cincinnati shortstop went straight to the ground. He was taken out of the game and replaced by Wilson Valdez. He did walk off the field under his own power. CBSSports.com Senior Writer Scott Miller reports that Cozart was diagnosed with a "mild concussion" and would be evaluated again on Tuesday.
The Reds are already without Joey Votto with inflammation in his left knee and Scott Rolen, who is out with back spasms.
Cozart was 2 for 2 and is hitting .250/.296/.405 with eight home runs.
