Diamondbacks’ Willie Bloomquist will be put on the disabled list with a back injury, according to FoxSportsArizona.com’s Jack Magruder.
Bloomquist had missed six straight games of the Diamondbacks’ recent road trip before he had a setback on Thursday.
Infielder Jake Elmore will be called up from Reno to take Bloomquist’s roster spot. The 25-year-old Elmore has hit .344/.442/.465 in 511 plate appearances this season. He’s played multiple positions this season, but has primarily been used at second base and shortstop.
