The Mets have optioned reliever Elvin Ramirez to Triple-A Buffalo and placed starter Dillon Gee on the 60-day disabled list, Adam Rubin of ESPN reported Tuesday. The moves opened spots on the Mets' 25-man and 40-man rosters respectively for Garrett Olson, whom the Mets recalled Monday.
Ramirez has bounced between the minors and majors this season, compiling a 7.30 ERA in 11 appearances for the Mets. He'll rejoin the bullpen in Buffalo, where he owns a 2.28 ERA in 27.2 innings, with 27 strikeouts against 14 walks.
Gee required surgery to repair an artery in his right shoulder in July and is unlikely to return this season.
