The Padres haven't shown interest in free-agent pitchers Shaun Marcum and Joe Saunders at all this offseason, according to MLB.com's Corey Brock.
This conflicts with earlier reports indicating the team had interest in both free agents.
If the Padres don't add anyone to the rotation before the beginning of the season, they project to open the season with a rotation consisting of Edinson Volquez, Clayton Richard, Jason Marquis, Eric Stults and Tyson Ross. Potential starters Andrew Cashner and Cory Luebke are set to open the season on the disabled list.
