The Philadelphia Phillies are expected to activate third baseman Placido Polanco on Monday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Matt Gelb.
In advance of Polanco's potential activation, the Phillies have optioned infielder Hector Luna to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Luna appeared in two games since being recalled by the Phillies on Aug. 13.
Polanco has hit .255/.300/.328 with two home runs in 314 plate appearances with the Phillies this season. He had five hits (all singles) in 12 at-bats during his recent minor-league rehab stint.
In the same article, Gelb reports the Phillies expect to have catcher Carlos Ruiz back from the disabled list at some point this season.
