Rockies left-handed pitcher Jeff Francis is expected to re-sign with the team during the offseason, according to the Denver Post’s Troy Renck.
Francis (5-4) will be a free agent at the end of the season, but Renck expects him to be back with the team in 2013. In 92 innings pitched, Francis has a 5.38 ERA and a 4.41 FIP this year.
Francis was a first-round draftee by the Rockies in 2002. He spent six seasons with the team before signing with the Royals for the 2011 season. After a year away from Colorado, Francis returned on a one-year deal worth $5.6 million.
