The Rockies have recalled starting pitcher Alex White and optioned outfielder Andrew Brown to Triple-A Colorado Springs, the club announced Thursday. White will start for the Rockies Thursday night.
The 23-year-old White, acquired in the Ubaldo Jimenez deal last season, has a 6.73 career ERA in 20 starts. However, he owns a 3.71 ERA at Triple-A despite his home park at Colorado Springs serving as one of the worst pitchers' parks in professional baseball.
Brown appeared in 11 games for Colorado, posting a .208/.231/.292 line. He returns to Colorado Springs, where he hit .317/.372/.605 with 20 homers in 86 games prior to the callup.
