The Tigers have acquired utility man Jeff Baker from the Cubs in exchange for two players to be named.
The 31-year-old Baker this season is hitting .269/.306/.448, and for his career he has an OPS+ of 95. The right-handed-hitting Baker also has a career line of .304/.352/.516 against the opposite side.
In 2012, Baker has seen action at first, second, right and left and can also play third. In other words, he's useful, and he'll certainly improve Detroit's depth.
