The Detroit Tigers optioned right-handed reliever Jose Ortega to Triple-A Toledo after Sunday's 7-1 win over Kansas City, tweets Tigers director of media relations Brian Britten.
The Tigers plan to recall second baseman Danny Worth after the All-Star break. In 30 games with the Tigers this season, Worth hit a disappointing .182/.270/.200. He was sent down to Triple-A on July 3. He's had five hits in 18 at-bats with the Mud Hens.
Ortega was recalled on July 3 and made one appearance, allowing a run on one hit in 2.1 innings. He struck out four batters and walked one.
