The Twins and Atlanta Braves made September call-ups with the Triple-A season coming to an end Monday:
- The Twins recalled infielder Eduardo Escobar and pitcher Luis Perdomo from Triple-A Rochester, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported. Escobar, 23, opened the season with the White Sox and came to the Twins in the Francisco Liriano trade in July. He hit .207/.281/.276 in 36 games with the White Sox and his struggles continued with Rochester as he hit just .224/.261/.313 in 34 games. Perdomo previously appeared in five games for the Twins, throwing six innings with a 1.50 ERA but walking seven against three strikeouts.
- The Braves recalled pitchers Julio Teheran and Cory Gearrin from Triple-A Gwinnett, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Teheran made one start for the Braves this season, allowing four runs in 4.1 innings on June 10 against Toronto. The fifth-best prospect in baseball according to Baseball America struggled this season, managing just a 5.08 ERA in 26 starts for Gwinnett, but at 21 he has plenty of time to figure it out. Gearrin has thrown 11.1 innings for Atlanta this season, posting a 0.79 ERA and 11 strikeouts to 2 walks.
