The Twins have recalled first baseman Chris Parmelee, the team announced.
Parmelee had been with the Twins earlier this season, but hit just .204/.283/.324 in 120 plate appearances. He’s been far more impressive in Triple-A this year, hitting .338/.457/.645. Parmelee has 17 home runs in just 282 Triple-A plate appearances.
To make room for Parmelee, the Twins have sent down reliever Jeff Gray. In 52 innings, Gray has a 5.71 ERA and a 5.84 FIP. He’s walked nearly as many batters as he’s struck out.
