Hawk Harrelson has his proponents, even though I'm not sure I've ever met one, but he does have a style, I'll say that. Whether it's the "he gone," or "you can put it on the board… yes! yes!" or "you gotta be bleeping me," you know a Hawk call when you hear it. Me, I find it just a bit over the top.
So, for some reason I take great pleasure in hearing the depressive side of the often manic announcer. We got one of those Tuesday. The scene, the "good guys" are down by two in the ninth to the Tigers with two on and two out. Chicago's Dayan Viciedo hits a ball to deep right, and behold:
It's so sad that after you're done laughing at him, you kinda want to buy him a beer. So, Hawk, next time we find ourselves at the same ballpark, the first one is on me.
Hat-tip: Awful Announcing

Video: Dadgumit, ball won't stretch for Hawk Harrelson, White Sox
No matter how much coaxing White Sox announcer Hawk Harrelson tried to push Dayan Viciedo's fly ball over the right-field fence at US Cellular Field on Tuesday, it just won't go far enough to satisfy the hometown fans and homer announcer.
