Amid rumors he might represent himself this winter, White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy has hired an agent according to the Chicago Tribune’s Mark Gonzales.
Peavy will be represented by CAA’s Jeff Berry, who has a good relationship with White Sox assistant general manager Rick Hahn. Berry has worked with Hahn to negotiate long-term deals for Mark Buehrle, John Danks and Mark Teahan in recent years.
While Berry expressed that Peavy has enjoyed his time in Chicago, he also hinted the 31-year-old pitcher is looking forward to playing the free-agent market for the first time.
