White Sox pitcher Jose Quintana allowed one run on five hits in 6 1/3 innings of work in Chicago's 3-0 loss to the Astros on Saturday.
Quintana ran into a jam in the fourth inning when after two men reached safely, he allowed a walk to load the bases with nobody out. Then, Jonthan Villar produced a sac fly to score a run. After that, Quintana settled down and recorded seven strikeouts to go along with four walks.
"All of my stuff was working good," Quintana said to MLB.com. "I tried to change speeds. I saw a lot of good swings. I tried to mix pitching. But changing speeds was working better today."
Quintana, now 2-6, moved his ERA to 4.14 in 60 1/3 innings of work this season. He will look to get back on track Friday against the Tigers.
