The White Sox have placed second baseman Gordon Beckham on the 15-day disabled list, the club announced.
Beckham suffered a hamate fracture on his left hand, a similar injury to what Pablo Sandoval and Nick Markakis suffered last season. Both players missed about a month due to the injury, and so a similar timeline for Beckham wouldn't be surprising.
Expect Jeff Keppinger to get the bulk of the playing time at second base in Beckham's absence, with Conor Gillaspie getting playing time at third base.
