Catcher Yan Gomes has been one of the most productive hitters in the Indians lineup this season - but that's not saying much. Even a recent slump doesn't change that status.
Gomes peaked at .280 after starting May on a 19-for-59 stretch in which he hit safely in 12 of 15 games. He had three home runs and 10 RBI during one 10-game period early in the month. But he needed a single in the ninth inning Wednesday to halt an 0-for-11 skid.
He boasts a decent .265/.314/.438 stat line on the season with six homers, 19 RBI and 23 runs scored for the impotent Indians.
