White Sox pitcher Zach Putnam is scheduled to resume mound work Friday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Putnam doesn't think he'll need all 15 days to recover from shoulder inflammation after being placed on the disabled list this week. He is set for rest and treatment over the next few days before beginning long toss. Putnam has earned three saves while posting a 2.35 ERA and 32:15 K:BB ratio in 38 1/3 innings.
