Aaron Laffey: Announces retirement
Laffey announced his retirement following Wednesday's game with Triple-A Las Vegas, Betsy Helfand of the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.
Laffey appeared in 156 games at the major-league level over the course of his 16-year career, including 68 starts, with a majority coming with Cleveland in 2008-09. He wound up with an ERA of 4.44 and 245 strikeouts in 494.1 innings. Recently, Laffey has spent the 2018 season with Las Vegas in the Mets' organization, but was unable to find any success during three starts with the team.

Mets' Aaron Laffey: Signs minors deal with Mets
Laffey signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Laffey last pitched in the minors at Triple-A Reno with the Diamondbacks in 2017, and was playing for the Somerset Patriots of the independent Atlantic League this season. The 33-year-old totaled three games with the Rockies in 2015 and has a 4.44 ERA and 1.52 WHIP across 494.1 innings in his major-league career.

Diamondbacks' Aaron Laffey: Inks minor-league contract with Arizona
Laffey signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Monday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
Laffey, who last appeared in the majors with the Rockies in 2015, had been pitching for the Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League. The 32-year-old left-hander has prior experience working as both a starter and reliever, but it's not immediately clear how the Diamondbacks plan to deploy him. Laffey will report to Triple-A Reno.

Nationals' Aaron Laffey: Assigned to minors camp
Laffey was assigned to minor league camp Monday.
As expected, Laffey will begin the season in the minors, likely at the Triple-A level. The 30-year-old has made eight combined major league appearances for the Mets, Blue Jays and Rockies over the last three years.

Nationals' Aaron Laffey: Signs minor league deal with Nats
Laffey signed a minor league deal with the Nationals on Friday. The contract includes an invitation to spring training.
Laffey made only three big league appearances last season, spending the bulk of the year in Triple-A as a member of the Rockies organization, which DFA'd him back in August. The 30-year-old did not pitch in the majors in 2014, but in 2013 he appeared in five games between the Mets and the Blue Jays.
