Wesley Wright: Released from minor-league deal
The Rangers released Wright on Tuesday, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
Wright, who signed a minor-league deal with the Rangers in January, failed to win a spot with the big club out of spring training and had spent the entire season with Triple-A Round Rock. The 32-year-old lefty was sporting a 4.88 ERA and 1.67 WHIP over 31.1 innings, and with a promotion to the Rangers not imminent, the organization decided it was best to cut Wright loose and open up more opportunities in the Round Rock bullpen for younger options.

Rangers' Wesley Wright: Signs minor league deal with Texas
Wright signed a minor league contract with the Rangers on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training.
He has logged 307 innings in the majors, but spent all of 2016 with the Red Sox's Triple-A affiliate. Wright's effectiveness, particularly his ability to miss bats, has been trending in the wrong direction in recent years, and it would not be surprising if he spent most of 2017 at Triple-A as well.

Red Sox's Wesley Wright: Signs with Boston
Wright agreed to a minor league deal with the Red Sox on Tuesday.
Wright was released by Arizona toward the end of spring training. He'll now join his fourth team in the last year. The lefty figures to serve mainly as organizational depth in the bullpen and is unlikely to see much, if any, time with the big league club.

Diamondbacks' Wesley Wright: Released by Diamondbacks
Wright was released by the Diamondbacks on Monday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
The 30-year-old lefty signed a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks back in January but failed to make the 25-man roster this spring despite pitching well (2.16 ERA and eight strikeouts in 8.1 innings). Wright, who has a career 4.16 ERA across eight MLB seasons, will look to latch on with a new team.

Diamondbacks' Wesley Wright: Signs minors deal with Diamondbacks
Wright signed a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks on Monday, Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports.
The 30-year-old reliever pitched in 11 major league games last season with varying success (3.68 ERA and 1.23 WHIP overall). He will now join the Diamondbacks, but will do so on a minor league deal that likely indicates he'll begin the season at Triple-A. However, the veteran southpaw joins a contending team, and could eventually work his way to the majors if he performs well enough.
