Hank Conger: Will coach overseas
Conger will serve as a coach for the Lotte Giants of the Korea Baseball Organization next season, Jee-ho Yoo of South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reports.
Conger played during portions of seven seasons in the majors, most recently with the Rays in 2016. The 31-year-old hasn't formally announced his retirement, but his transition to coaching likely signals the end of his playing career after recording a .660 OPS with 31 home runs and 114 RBI over his major-league career with the Angels, Astros and Rays.

Diamondbacks' Hank Conger: Will make spring debut Tuesday

Rays' Hank Conger: Throws out first baserunner since May 2015 in Sunday loss
Conger successfully threw out the Blue Jays' Ezequiel Carrera in the fifth inning of Sunday's 5-1 loss, ending a streak of 48 successful steal attempts against him, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports.
The veteran backstop had last cut down a runner on May 29, 2015, when he threw out the White Sox's J.B. Shuck. Conger, who went 1-for-3 in Sunday's game while hitting out of the ninth spot, also became the first Rays catcher to throw out a base stealer this season. He'd made his defense a priority in recent sessions with catching coach Jamie Nelson, and the extra work paid off on the inning-ending put-out at second base. However, the 28-year-old's struggles in a Rays uniform also extend to his performance at the plate. He's slashing just .172/.200/.172 over his first 29 at-bats, with no extra-base hits or homers and only a single RBI.
