Quintin Berry: Transitions into coaching
The Brewers announced Wednesday that Berry has joined their 2021 coaching staff, signaling the end of his playing career.
After a 13-year professional career that ended in 2018, Berry had spent the previous two seasons as an outfield and baserunning coordinator in the Brewers' minor-league system. The 35-year-old saw action in parts of five major-league seasons with the Tigers, Red Sox, Orioles, Cubs and Brewers, making his biggest impact on the basepaths. Over 132 career regular-season games, Berry went 29-for-31 on stolen-base attempts.

Yankees' Quintin Berry: Inks minors deal with Yankees
Berry signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees on Monday.
Berry will report to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, where he'll serve as organizational outfield depth. He hit just .214/.290/.321 across 42 games with Triple-A Colorado Springs earlier in the year before being cut loose by the Brewers. He managed to steal 10 bases over that stretch, and could be utilized as a pinch runner in September if the Yankees opt to add him to their 40-man roster.

Brewers' Quintin Berry: Returns to Brewers
Berry re-signed with Milwaukee on a minor-league deal Monday.
The 33-year-old oufielder was used occasionally as a pinch runner for the Brewers last year, appearing in seven games and stealing three bases. His five steals in six plate appearances over the past four years is an incredible ratio, but he hasn't recorded a major-league hit over that timespan. He's unlikely to provide anything other than minor-league depth for the Brewers this season.

Quintin Berry: Elects free agency
Berry declined his outright assignment to Triple-A Colorado Springs and is now a free agent.
Berry appeared in just seven games for the Brewers last season, serving primarily as a pinch runner and swiping two bags in his three attempts. The 32-year-old journeyman has a career .262/.333/.364 line in 345 major-league plate appearances, though he's registered just 14 big-league at-bats since 2013. He'll look to catch on elsewhere as organizational depth.

Brewers' Quintin Berry: Outrighted to Triple-A
Berry cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Wednesday.
Berry, a 32-year-old journeyman, appeared in just seven games for the Brewers in 2017, serving primarily as a pinch runner and swiping two bags in three attempts. He's appeared in just 38 big league games since 2013, so he'll continue to serve as organizational outfield depth wherever he winds up next season.

Brewers' Quintin Berry: Contract purchased from Triple-A
Berry's contract was selected from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday.
A 32-year-old journeyman with only 342 career plate appearances in the majors under his belt, Berry hit .286/.375/.452 with two home runs and two steals in 10 games with Colorado Springs. Berry is 27-for-28 on stolen-base attempts in his big-league career. He can play center field and serves as another left-handed option off the bench, but his primary usage may come as a pinch runner late in games. Jonathan Villar and Keon Broxton should still see the bulk of the work in center field over the final four weeks of the season.

Brewers' Quintin Berry: Contract selected by Brewers
Berry's contract was purchased by the Brewers on Friday.
The outfielder will report to Triple-A Colorado Springs and serve as organizational depth for Milwaukee moving forward. Berry played in 14 games for Triple-A Rochester earlier this season while he was a member of the Twins, hitting .194/.275/.278 with two extra-base hits during 12 games. The 32-year-old hasn't played since being released by Minnesota on May 9, and is unlikely to see any action with the big-league club during the remainder of the season.

Quintin Berry: Released by Minnesota
The Twins released Berry on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old outfielder signed a minor-league contract with the Twins in February and opened the season with Triple-A Rochester, with whom he slashed .194/.275/.278 in 40 plate appearances. The speedy veteran last played in the majors in 2015 with the Cubs, but at this stage of his career, Berry looks to be little more than organizational depth. He'll presumably attempt to land a minor-league deal elsewhere.
