Braves' Alex Torres: Released by Braves
Torres was released by the Braves on Wednesday, David O'Brain of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
After Torres was reassigned to the Braves' minor league camp on Monday, he was released on Wednesday. Last season the left-handed reliever pitched 34.1 innings for the Mets before the Braves signed him to a minor league deal in the offseason. Torres had the potential to play in the majors this season but general manager John Coppolella stated that Torres was "just not a good fit." With past major-league experience, the 28-year-old would be a nice fit for a team looking to bolster their left-handed depth in the bullpen.

Braves' Alex Torres: Reassigned to minor league camp Monday
Torres was reassigned to minor league camp Monday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
This comes as a surprise to many, as the Braves are fairly thin in the department of left-handed pitchers and since Torres has pitched fairy well in the majors in recent seasons. Although he'll head to the minors to begin the season, Torres could very well wind up with the major league club early on in the season if another member of the bullpen goes down due to injury.

Braves' Alex Torres: Inks minor league deal with Braves
Torres signed a minor league deal with the Braves on Wednesday that includes an invite to spring training, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports.
Torres spent time in the majors with the Mets in 2015, where he accumulated an ERA of 3.15 over 34.1 innings. He'll need to improve his command if he plans on making the final roster in Atlanta, however, as the left reliever sported a 6.8 BB/9 rate last year when with the big league club.
