Moore was outrighted from the 40-man roster Saturday, Andre Hernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
Moore played in 104 games this season during his first year with the Marlins, but was removed from the 40-man roster, along with three others, Saturday. During the 2017 campaign, he slashed .230/.267/.401 with six home runs and 30 RBI.

Marlins' Tyler Moore: Losing starts to Telis
Moore is out of the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Phillies, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
The Marlins' timeshare at first base has seemingly favored Tomas Telis of late, as he'll pick up his fourth start in five games while Moore rides the bench. With Telis batting .348 over his last eight appearances and Moore off to a 6-for-33 start to August, manager Don Mattingly's decision to ride the hotter bat isn't a surprising one. It may take a multi-game cold spell from Telis before Moore starts picking up regular at-bats again.

Marlins' Tyler Moore: Taking control of first-base timeshare
Moore will start at first base and bat sixth in Monday's game against the Giants, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
With Moore picking up his fourth start in six games, it looks as though he's at least temporarily seized control of the timeshare at first base ahead of Tomas Telis, who has been his main competition for duties at the position since Justin Bour (oblique) hit the disabled list. Both Moore and Telis offer limited fantasy appeal outside of NL-only leagues, but Moore's upside is probably greater due to the superior power he's displayed in the minors and over parts of five seasons in the majors.

Moore had started the last couple games at first base, but it appears manager Don Mattingly is aiming for more of a platoon system between him and Tomas Telis while Justin Bour (oblique) remains on the disabled list. The 30-year-old Moore may need to do more at the plate if he wants to see increased action, as he has just four hits in his last 22 at-bats.

It's the third straight game that Moore will hit the bench, a sign the Marlins are no longer viewing him as the primary replacement for the injured Justin Bour (oblique), who is likely to miss the remainder of the season. Tomas Telis will draw his second start in three games at first base Monday, but if Telis fails to offer much production in the days to come, Moore could receive another look in a starting role.

Moore had his contract purchased from Triple-A New Orleans on Tuesday, Joe Capozzi of The Palm Beach Post reports.
With Miguel Rojas (thumb) landing on the 60-day disabled list, a 40-man roster spot opened up for Moore to re-emerge in the big leagues. The first baseman found some success in the small side of a platoon with Justin Bour at first base to start the season, and he could resume that role if his performance at the plate warrants it.
