Vinnie Pestano: Released Tuesday
Pestano was released from his contract with the Yankees on Tuesday, LoHud.com reports.
Pestano hadn't pitched since April after landing on the minor league disabled list, but he's now healthy and free to sign with a new team. In eight appearances this season, the 31-year-old worked to a 3.38 ERA with an impressive 16:1 K:BB over 10.2 innings with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Yankees' Vinnie Pestano: Reassigned to minor league camp
Pestano was reassigned to minor league camp Saturday.
He struggled in 19 appearances with the Angels last year and did nothing to help himself this spring, allowing five runs in four Grapefruit League innings. With the additions the Yankees made to the bullpen this offseason, it's hard to imagine Pestano taking on much of a role at any point in 2016.

Pestano received an invitation to spring training Friday, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.
Pestano split time between Triple-A and the majors in the Angels' organization last season, but saw much more success in the minors. There's a good chance that he could head back to the minors if he can't garner a low-leverage bullpen role in spring training.

Pestano enjoyed success early in his career with the Indians, but has struggled to find his form lately. He spent the majority of last season in the minors and figures to serve as organizational depth in the bullpen.
