  • Orioles' Audry Perez: Moved to minor-league camp

Perez was reassigned to minor-league camp Sunday, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.

Perez's playing time had been fairly limited since the start of spring training. However, he made good use of his time as he went 3-for-6 with a home run and two RBI over five games. Look for Perez to provide organizational depth at catcher for Baltimore this season.

  • Orioles' Audry Perez: Returns to Orioles

Perez re-signed a minor-league deal with Baltimore on Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Perez wound up spending most of this past season with Double-A Bowie, slashing .301/.333/.420 with two home runs and 22 RBI in 50 games. The 29-year-old backstop missed a chunk of the year with a strained ligament in his knee, and will likely provide added insurance at the Triple-A level in 2018. That said, Perez doesn't provide much value from a fantasy perspective and has only appeared in three major-league games to date.

  • Orioles' Audry Perez: Sent down to Double-A

Perez was transferred from Triple-A Norfolk to Double-A Bowie on Thursday.

The backstop had logged just 10 at-bats over three starts since joining Triple-A at the beginning of June. Moving Perez back to Bowie will afford the 28-year-old more playing time, while Francisco Pena and Chance Sisco handle the load in Norfolk.

  • Orioles' Audry Perez: Activated from minor-league DL

Perez (knee) was activated from the MiLB disabled list and joined Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, David Hall of The Virginian-Pilot reports.

The 28-year-old catcher strained a ligament May 2, sending him to the DL for the entire month. Perez has played in just three MLB games since becoming a professional in 2008, and his chance at fantasy relevance is long gone.

  • Orioles' Audry Perez: Dealing with strained knee ligament

Perez has a strained ligament in his knee and will be sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports.

Perez was off to a nice start before being sidelined with the injury, slashing .324/.351/.419 through 17 games (74 at-bats) with Double-A Bowie. He'll continue to serve as organizational depth when he is able to return from the injury.

  • Orioles' Audry Perez: Headed to big league camp

Perez received an invitation to major league spring training Tuesday.

The 28-year-old spent the entirety of 2016 with Baltimore's Triple-A affiliate in Norfolk, where he batted a solid .291 while posting a 21:53 BB:K ratio in 306 at-bats. Despite the success he enjoyed in the minors, Perez seems destined to fill an organizational depth role in 2017 given that Welington Castillo and Caleb Joseph are in line to take the vast majority of the reps at the major league level.

  • Orioles' Audry Perez: Assigned to minor league camp

Perez was assigned to minor league camp Wednesday, Rich Dubroff of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.

Perez batted .313 (5-for-16) with two home runs and six RBI in spring training. He was competing for a roster spot with Matt Wieters and Caleb Joseph, so the Orioles must feel that a two-catcher platoon will suffice heading into the regular season. Perez will look to fine tune his game in the minors in preparation for a possible call-up if Wieters or Joseph goes down with an injury.
