Cunningham was traded to the White Sox from the Pirates on Thursday in exchange for a player to be named later, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic Pittsburgh reports.
The 29-year-old Cunningham, who is hitting just .130/.192/.174 through nine games with Triple-A Indianapolis this season, will serve as organizational outfield depth with his new club. He's seen a trio of brief major-league stints since 2013, though he's struggled to a combined .207/.256/.264 slash line across 67 big-league games.

Pirates' Todd Cunningham: Gets spring invite
Cunningham agreed to a minor-league contract with the Pirates on Thursday, which includes an invitation to spring training, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
Cunningham split time between the Dodgers and Cardinals last season, hitting a combined .284/.404/.414 with four homers and seven stolen bases across 96 games at the Triple-A level. Dodgers' Todd Cunningham: Traded to Dodgers
Cunningham was traded to the Dodgers for cash considerations Tuesday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
The 28-year-old outfielder was slashing .270/.401/.400 with 27 RBI with Triple-A Memphis this season, a string of success he'll look to continue with his new club, Triple-A Oklahoma City. Cunningham has a career .207 batting average over 68 major-league at-bats and will primarily serve as organizational depth for the Dodgers.

With Tyler Skaggs returning, the Angels opted to make room by designating Cunningham for assignment. Cunningham made a trio of starts after being called up last Saturday, but he struggled to notch just one hit in 12 at-bats. The Angels have been cycling through left field options all season, and the slumping Rafael Ortega recently demoted to Triple-A Salt Lake, it appears the wheel has landed on Cunningham for now. While the allure of increased at-bats might put Cunningham on the radar in AL-only formats, his career batting line of .214/.267/.255 across 105 plate appearances gives him very limited appeal in mixed leagues.

Angels' Todd Cunningham: Called up, starting Saturday
Cunningham was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
A waiver acquisition from Atlanta last October, he has hit .299/.401/.382 with 13 stolen bases and more walks (32) than strikeouts (31) in 55 games at the Triple-A level this season. Cunningham replaced Rafael Ortega on the roster and will immediately take over in left field, batting sixth. The 27-year-old figures to serve on the large end of a platoon alongside Shane Robinson for the time being.

Outfielder Todd Cunningham was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Friday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
A second-round pick by Atlanta in 2010, he hit just .261/.325/.337 in 97 games with Triple-A Gwinnett this season and disappointed further in a 39-game look with the big club. It's hard to imagine Cunningham will push for anything more than a reserve role in spring training, if he even survives Rule 5 roster cuts.
