  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: In Game 3 lineup Tuesday

Bogaerts (hamstring) will start at shortstop and bat sixth Tuesday in Game 3 of the NLDS against the Dodgers. Bogaerts was removed from Game 2 on Sunday with a hamstring cramp, but he's ready to roll as the series shift to San Diego. The veteran infielder is 3-for-8 with one home run and three RBI in the first two games of the series.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Exits early with hamstring injury

Bogaerts (hamstring) exited Sunday's 10-2 win over the Dodgers in the eighth inning due to a hamstring injury, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports. Bogaerts launched a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning before exiting the contest soon after with what has been described as a hamstring cramp. Tyler Wade replaced him at shortstop ahead of the bottom of the frame. Bogaerts finished his night 1-for-4 with the solo shot, and his availability moving forward doesn't seem to be in question.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Not starting Sunday

Bogaerts is absent from Sunday's lineup against Arizona. Bogaerts will get some rest for the regular-season finale, and unless he comes in to pinch hit, he'll head into the playoffs with a slash line of .264/.307/.381, 13 stolen bases, 11 home runs and 44 RBI across 463 plate appearances. Nick Ahmed will start at shortstop Sunday and bat fifth.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Swats homer in win

Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's win over the White Sox. Bogaerts launched a two-run homer on a hanging cutter from Chris Flexen in his first trip to the plate to put San Diego up 2-0 early. It marked the shortstop's 11th long ball on the campaign and his fourth this month, during which he's batting just .234 with 10 RBI and six runs scored. Bogaerts has also hit safely in each of his last three contests, though he had gone five games without recording a run or an RBI coming into Saturday.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Swipes bag in win

Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the White Sox. Bogaerts has racked up three steals over his last five games, though this was his first multi-hit performance since Sept. 5. The 31-year-old has seen steady playing time at shortstop while Ha-Seong Kim (shoulder) is on the mend. Bogaerts is up to a .261/.305/.375 slash line with 10 home runs, 13 steals, 39 RBI and 47 runs scored through 104 contests this year.

Bogaerts went 1-for-5 with a solo homer in Saturday's win over San Francisco. Bogaerts jumped on a hanging sweeper from Mason Black in the top of the fourth and sent it into the stands for his 10th home run of the campaign and his third in September. The shortstop has now hit safely and driven in a run in three consecutive games, though he's still batting just .238 (10-for-42) this month with eight RBI and five runs scored. Bogaerts also has just two multi-hit games since Aug. 23.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Starts at shortstop Tuesday

Bogaerts started at shortstop and went 0-for-4 win Tuesday's 7-3 win against the Mariners. San Diego had been considering moving Bogaerts from second to shortstop with the timeline for Ha-Seong Kim (shoulder) to return from the IL looking murky. Bogaerts' start at shortstop was his first of the campaign, though he had been used there four times previously this year and had played almost exclusively at the position before shifting to second base to begin this season. Jake Cronenworth shifted from first base to second Tuesday while Donovan Solano started at first base, and that could be the most common configuration for the Padres moving forward -- at least against right-handed pitchers -- for as long as Kim remains sidelined.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Move back to shortstop possible

The Padres are mulling the possibility of moving Bogaerts back to shortstop as Ha-Seong Kim's (shoulder) progress stalls, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports. Bogaerts has expressed a desire to remain at second base now that he's become comfortable there, but on Sunday he seemed to be amendable to a move back to shortstop if it meant getting Donovan Solano's bat in the lineup. The 31-year-old moved to shortstop mid-game Sunday versus the Giants after the Padres pinch-hit for shortstop Mason McCoy when they were trailing by five runs at the time. Bogaerts has now been used at shortstop four times this season but has not made a start there.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Goes deep Sunday

Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's loss to the Giants. Bogaerts' only hit of the afternoon was a two-run shot to left in the eighth to bring the Padres within a run after they were down 6-0. That's his third home run over the last nine games after having just six in his other 86 games this season. He's showcased his lowest slugging percentage and OPS this year since his first full MLB season in 2014 and is now slashing .266/.210/.379 with 23 extra-base hits, 36 RBI, 46 runs, 10 steals and a 25:67 BB:K in 400 plate appearances.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Three hits, homer in loss

Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's loss to the Tigers. Bogaerts jumped on a hanging slider from Casey Mize in the bottom of the second inning and launched it into the left-field stands, extending San Diego's lead to three runs. The infielder would also add two singles to give him his fifth game this season with three or more hits, but his first since July 27 against Baltimore. The long ball was Bogaerts' eighth of the campaign, and he's now batting .357 (5-for-14) in September with three RBI and three runs scored.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Goes deep, swipes bag

Bogaerts went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored, a stolen base and a walk in Friday's win over Tampa Bay. Bogaerts walked and stole second base in the fourth inning before capping off his night with a ninth-inning solo homer. He snapped a 13-game homerless drought and has gone deep just twice in 27 games this month. However, since returning from the injured list in July, Bogaerts has gone 50-for-152 (.329) through 40 games. He owns a .268/.311/.372 slash line with seven homers and nine steals through 87 games.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Rare day off Thursday

Bogaerts is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in St. Louis, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Bogaerts had a day off in his second game back from the injured list back on July 13, but Thursday's contest will mark the first time he's been out of the lineup since then. Donovan Solano will enter the lineup in his place at designated hitter, with Jake Cronenworth covering second base and Luis Arraez manning third base.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Swipes bag Monday

Bogaerts went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base in a 7-4 win over St. Louis on Monday. Bogaerts' RBI came on a sacrifice fly in the fifth frame. The second baseman is batting a respectable .276 in August, but he has only one homer and a modest nine RBI through 23 games. The lack of power and run production has been a season-long issue for Bogaerts -- he has just six home runs and 29 RBI across 83 contests overall.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Swipes bag, tallies two hits

Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored while also drawing a walk in Saturday's win over Colorado. Bogaerts walked and stole second in his second trip to the plate before then getting caught trying to steal third. The second baseman would add singles in each of his next two at-bats, with the latter one driving home Jurickson Profar to extend San Diego's lead to seven runs. It was the fifth multi-hit performance this month for Bogaerts, and he's now hit safely in five of his last six games. He's batting .268 (15-for-56) in August with six RBI, eight runs and just three extra-base hits, while Saturday's stolen base marked his seventh of the campaign.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Swipes bag in Sunday's win

Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a steal and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Rockies. Bogaerts was one of four Padres with multiple hits on the afternoon, though neither of his hits went for extra bases. He did manage to steal a bag in the seventh for his sixth stolen base of the year. Bogaerts has remained scorching hot at the plate since returning to the lineup from a fractured left shoulder July 12. In 16 games he's played since then, he's gone hitless only twice and has posted 10 multi-hit efforts. He's slashed .438/.456/.578 with a homer, seven RBI, 10 runs, two steals and a 2:7 BB:K over that span.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Keeps swinging hot bat

Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday in a loss to Baltimore. Bogaerts temporarily brought San Diego to within a run with his two-run blast to left field in the sixth inning. The long ball extended the infielder's hitting streak to eight games, during which he's slashing a scorching .545/.571/.788 with four RBI, seven runs and a stolen base. Bogaerts is batting .489 over 45 at-bats since returning July 12 from a lengthy stay on the injured list.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Perfect at plate Wednesday

Bogaerts went 4-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in Wednesday's 12-3 win over the Nationals. Bogaerts kept his bat hot and had no trouble keeping the line moving in the blowout win. He's recorded six multi-hit efforts in seven games since he returned from a fractured left shoulder, going 14-for-29 (.483) in that span, though all of those hits have been singles. The infielder is slashing .255/.296/.338 with four home runs, 15 RBI, 26 runs scored and five stolen bases over 54 contests this season, but it appears fantasy managers will have to be patient in waiting for his power to return.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Gets two hits, swipes bag

Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Guardians. Bogaerts has been hot at the plate since his return from a fractured shoulder, with multiple hits in four of five games since being activated. Bogaerts is now 8-for-21 since his return, but he's still looking for his first extra-base hit since May. The stolen base was his fifth of the season, and he could present value in the second half of the season if he keeps up this type of production.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Beginning on bench Saturday

Bogaerts isn't in Saturday's starting lineup versus Atlanta, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Bogaerts returned from a lengthy absence Friday, going 2-for-4 while starting at second base. There's no word that he aggravated the shoulder injury that landed him on the IL on May 20, so his absence from the lineup Saturday is presumably part of the plan to ease him back into action. Jake Cronenworth is playing second base in the middle game of the series while Luis Arraez is moving from DH to first base.
