Marlins' Nick Maronde: Reassigned to minors camp
Marone was reassigned to minor league camp Friday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
The 6-foot-3 right-hander likely will start 2017 at Triple-A New Orleans, looking to improve at the level after stumbling at Triple-A Columbus last year. The 27-year-old has struggled to a 7.33 ERA in the majors over 33 games but has produced OK results in the minors with a 3.67 ERA over six seasons.

Marlins' Nick Maronde: Selected by Marlins in Rule 5 draft
Maronde was selected by Miami in the Triple-A phase of the Rule 5 draft Thursday.
The 6-foot-3 right-hander split time last year between Triple-A Columbus and Double-A Akron, where he was much more effective. With the Indians' Double-A affiliate, Maronde posted an impressive 2.19 ERA and 2.91 FIP over 24.2 innings out of the bullpen. However, the 27-year-old veteran saw his ERA nearly double to 4.24 at the Triple-A level along with producing noticeably higher K/9 and BB/9 rates. Now a member of the Marlins' organization, Maronde will begin 2017 in Triple-A and likely serve as a source of organizational pitching depth.

Indians' Nick Maronde: Gives up earned run over 1.2 innings
Maronde gave up one earned run on three hits and a walk over 1.2 innings in Triple-A Columbus' 5-1 loss to Indianapolis on Thursday.
Maronde appeared once in spring training and struck out a batter in his 0.1 innings of work. The 26-year-old is coming off a poor season between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus where he recorded an 0-9 record to go along with a 4.70 ERA and 1.576 WHIP. The lefty will likely remain at the Triple-A level this season and try and bounce back from his poor 2015 campaign.
