Rays' Ty Hensley: Heads to Rays in Triple-A Rule 5 draft
Hensley (elbow) was selected by the Rays in the Triple-A phase of the Rule 5 draft Thursday.
The first-round pick has missed the last two seasons due to two Tommy John surgeries and has pitched just 42.2 minor league innings since being drafted in 2012. The first step is to regain full strength and get some work in within the lower levels of the minor leagues.

Yankees' Ty Hensley: Needs Tommy John surgery again
Hensley (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the entire 2016 season.
Hensley will require ligament replacement surgery for the second year in a row -- another disappointing blow for the injury-plagued righty. Since being drafted in the first round in 2012, the Yankees prospect has missed two entire seasons due to injuries -- 2013 due to hip surgery and 2015 because of a first Tommy John surgery. Now missing a third full season, the 22-year-old has a long road ahead of him.
