Cody Decker: Calls end to career
Decker retired from professional baseball after appearing in his final game with Triple-A Reno on Friday.
The 32-year-old first baseman/outfielder spent most of his career as a Quad-A player, amassing 3,367 at-bats in the minors and slugging 204 home runs since turning professional in 2009. Decker appeared in eight games at the big-league level, with all coming with the Padres in 2015.

Decker signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Thursday, Jon Heyman of FanRagSports.com reports.
The 31-year-old is a big power threat, having four seasons of 20-plus home runs in the minors to his name. That said, his absurdly high strikeout rates leave much to be desired. With Paul Goldschmidt entrenched at first base for Arizona, this seems like nothing more than an organizational depth signing.

Mets' Cody Decker: Signs with Mets
Decker signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Monday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
Decker played for Israel in the World Baseball Classic but couldn't latch on with the Brewers in minor-league camp. The Mets don't have quite as much depth at first base or the corner outfield spots -- Wilmer Flores is currently their backup first baseman -- so Decker could find himself a spot as a power bat on their bench. The 2009 22nd-round pick has four seasons of at least 20 home runs in the minor leagues, and perhaps he can bring some of that thump to New York.

Decker didn't have much time to make an impression with the Brewers, as he missed a good chunk of spring away at the WBC with Team Israel. The 29-year-old now will look to catch on with another team, where he'll likely serve as organizational depth.

Brewers' Cody Decker: Signs minor league deal
Decker signed a minor league contract with the Brewers on Saturday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
According to McCalvy, Decker's new contract with the Brewers does not include an invitation to major league spring training. Decker announced that he will be primarily working as a catcher, which adds depth at that position following the departures of Jonathan Lucroy and Martin Maldonado. Still, it'd likely take some attrition at the major league level for Decker to be added to Milwaukee's 40-man roster.

Red Sox's Cody Decker: Signs minor league deal with Boston
Decker signed a minor league contract with Boston and has been assigned to Double-A Portland, the Boston Globe reports.
Decker, who played eight games for San Diego last season, opened the 2016 season in the Padres' organization before being dealt to Colorado in April. The Rockies then released him in mid-May after he posted a .208/.246/.377 slash line while striking out 21 times in 52 at-bats. He's put up good power numbers during his career at the Triple-A level, but also strikes out a ton. For the Red Sox, he'll serve as organizational depth for a club that finds itself thin at the upper levels following Sam Travis' season-ending knee injury.

Rockies' Cody Decker: Traded to Rockies
Decker was traded to the Rockies on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations.
He was subsequently assigned to Triple-A Albuquerque, where he will serve as first base depth in an organization that is very thin at the position. This represents an upgrade for Decker, as he was unlikely to ever see notable big league at-bats with Eric Hosmer entrenched in Kansas City. The 29-year-old minor league journeyman has just 12 career MLB plate appearances, and while he has shown 20-plus homer power in the minors, his batting average has always been subpar, given his age and level.

Royals' Cody Decker: Draws walk in win
Decker drew a walk in Triple-A Omaha's 6-5 win over New Orleans on Friday.
Decker had an up-and-down spring, as he batted .250 with three homers and seven RBI but also struck out 16 times in 44 at-bats. The 29-year-old made his first appearance in the majors last year with San Diego and struck out five times in 11 at-bats while failing to record a hit. The corner infielder has hopped between Double-A and Triple-A the last four years and will likely remain there until he proves that he's more than the career .265 minor league hitter that he currently is.

Padres' Cody Decker: Outrighted from 40-man roster
Decker was sent outright to Triple-A El Paso Wednesday.
Decker was called up to the Padres near the end of September -- his first opportunity with a major league club in his career. Used primarily as a pinch-hitter, Decker was unable to record a hit, going 0-for-11 in eight appearances with the club. Decker certainly has the power, (he hit 65 home runs in three years with Triple-A El Paso) but it remains to be seen whether he can boast a consistent batting average worthy of a major league roster spot.
