  • Mariners' Rob Kaminsky: Back with Seattle on minors pact

The Mariners signed Kaminsky to a minor-league contract Monday. Kaminsky spent last season in the Mariners organization, posting a 7.52 ERA and 18:8 K:BB over 20.1 innings during his time at Triple-A Tacoma. He'll return to Tacoma and provide Seattle some left-handed relief depth at its top affiliate.

  • Mariners' Rob Kaminsky: Inks minors deal with Seattle

Kaminsky signed a minor-league contract Friday with the Mariners. It's more of a return to the Mariners organization, as Kaminsky spent the majority of 2022 at Double-A Arkansas and struggled to a 4.91 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 36.2 innings.

  • Mariners' Rob Kaminsky: Lands with Mariners

Kaminsky signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Thursday, per the MLB transaction log. Kaminsky spent the 2021 season with the Phillies, though he threw only one inning due to an elbow injury. He has been assigned to Double-A Arkansas, despite the fact that he has past major-league experience. It's unlikely that Kaminsky will see action in the majors during the 2022 campaign, but if he does, it would likely come in a low-leverage relief role.

  • Phillies' Rob Kaminsky: Joins Phillies on minor-league deal

Kaminsky signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies on Tuesday. Kaminsky threw 4.2 innings in his major-league debut for the Cardinals last season, allowing one earned run. The 26-year-old gives the Phillies some added depth from the left side but won't be one of the first names called up when a bullpen vacancy opens up, as he's not on the 40-man roster.

  • Cardinals' Rob Kaminsky: Passes through waivers

The Cardinals outrighted Kaminsky to their alternate training site over the weekend after he went unclaimed off waivers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. The organization is shutting down workouts at its alternate site for the remainder of the season, so unless Kaminsky receives an invite to the Cardinals' taxi squad, his 2020 campaign is over. The 2013 first-round pick will remain in the organization through the conclusion of the season before becoming a minor-league free agent this winter.

  • Cardinals' Rob Kaminsky: Cast off 40-man roster

The Cardinals designated Kaminsky for assignment Wednesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. The transaction clears space on the 40-man roster and 28-man active roster for pitcher Johan Oviedo, who was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list ahead of his scheduled start in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Brewers. Assuming he goes unclaimed off waivers, Kaminsky would remain in the St. Louis organization and report to the team's alternate training site in Springfield. Kaminsky has made five relief appearances for St. Louis this season, giving up two earned runs on three hits and two walks over 4.2 innings.

  • Cardinals' Rob Kaminsky: Unblemished ERA as rookie

Kaminsky, who fired a scoreless ninth inning during which he allowed one hit in Monday's loss to the Cubs, has now put together three scoreless, one-inning appearances to open his major-league career. The southpaw had his share of troubles at Triple-A Memphis last season, posting a 5.11 ERA and 1.65 WHIP across 24.2 innings. However, Kaminsky also generated an impressive and career-high 11.5 K/9 over that span, and although he hasn't been anywhere near as dominant during his small big-league sample (6.0 K/9), the 26-year-old's 13.2 percent swinging-strike rate does hint at the potential for an elevated strikeout rate over time.

  • Cardinals' Rob Kaminsky: Rejoins 28-man roster

Kaminsky was recalled from the Cardinals' alternate training site Saturday. Kaminsky tossed two clean innings during his first stint in the majors, and he'll rejoin the team's pitching staff as part of a string of transactions. The southpaw should pitch mainly in lower-leverage situations.

  • Cardinals' Rob Kaminsky: Sent down by Cardinals

Kaminsky was optioned to the Cardinals' alternate training site Tuesday. Kaminsky didn't allow any baserunners over two innings while striking out two over the past two days, but he'll still be removed from the 28-man roster. The southpaw will remain on the taxi squad for the current road trip, so he will be available in an emergency. Jesus Cruz's contract was selected in a corresponding move.

  • Cardinals' Rob Kaminsky: Added to major-league roster

Kaminsky was added to the Cardinals' major-league roster Saturday. Kaminsky will join the major-league roster for the first time to fill in amid the team's COVID-19 outbreak. He could make his debut as early as Saturday, but he's unlikely to pitch in high-leverage situations in the big leagues.

  • Cardinals' Rob Kaminsky: Scheduled to join big-league team

Kaminsky will be called up to the 28-man roster when the Cardinals' season resumes following their COVID-19 outbreak, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. With the Cardinals hoping to resume their season with a doubleheader against the White Sox on Saturday, Kaminsky is among those who will fill the roster spots left empty by the team's virus outbreak. Kaminsky could make his big-league debut as soon as Saturday with the Cardinals utilizing a bullpen game in the second half of the doubleheader.

  • Cardinals' Rob Kaminsky: Sent to alternate camp

The Cardinals assigned Kaminsky to their alternate training site in Springfield on Thursday. Kaminsky was one of four players sent packing from big-league camp as the Cardinals trimmed down their group ahead of Opening Day. A 2013 first-round pick of the Cardinals, Kaminsky is in his second stint with the organization after he was previously traded to the Indians in 2015 before joining St. Louis on a minor-league deal this winter. He split time between Triple-A Columbus and Double-A Akron last season, compiling a 3.54 ERA and 1.25 WHIP across 56 innings.

  • Cardinals' Rob Kaminsky: Heading to summer training

Kaminsky was added to the Cardinals' 60-player roster pool and will report to camp at Busch Stadium, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. The 25-year-old signed with the Cardinals in December and was likely headed to Triple-A Memphis before the hiatus and ultimate shutdown of the minor-league season. Kaminsky had a 5.11 ERA and 1.65 WHIP over 24.2 innings at the Triple-A level in 2019.

  • Cardinals' Rob Kaminsky: Inks minor-league deal

Kaminsky signed a minor-league contract with the Cardinals on Thursday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Kaminsky advanced to Triple-A Columbus in 2019, where he recorded a 5.11 ERA with a 1.65 WHIP. While the report doesn't explicitly say so, it wouldn't be surprising to see the 25-year-old get the chance to compete in the Cardinals' big-league camp in spring training. However, the southpaw likely needs to develop more before making his major-league debut.

  • Indians' Rob Kaminsky: Activated from DL

Kaminsky (abdomen) was reinstated from the 7-day disabled list and transferred to High-A Lynchburg. Kaminsky has yet to pitch this season after recovering from a forearm injury that he suffered last April, to go along with an abdomen issue that plagued him in recent weeks. Instead of continuing at the Double-A level, the organization decided to bring him back to High-A in order to get his arm back up to speed.

  • Indians' Rob Kaminsky: Placed on 7-day DL

Kaminsky landed on the 7-day disabled list Wednesday with left forearm soreness. Acquired from the Cardinals in 2015 as part of the Brandon Moss trade, Kaminsky has seen his prospect star diminish quite a bit after posting underwhelming strikeout rates the last one and a half seasons in the Indians organization. The forearm injury won't help Kaminsky's case for making his way to the big leagues anytime soon, even it proves to be only a short-term setback. Kaminsky made one start with Double-A Akron prior to hitting the DL, conceding five runs on six hits and two walks over five innings.

  • Indians' Rob Kaminsky: Adjusts delivery posture for 2017

Kaminsky believes that a change in his delivery posture will lead to more success in 2017, David Laurila of Fangraphs reports. The 22-year-old left-hander still ranks as the Indians' 19th-best prospect, but has seen his stock fall ever since coming over to the Indians from the Cardinals in the summer of 2015 for Brandon Moss. Although Kaminsky has been solid (3.28 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over 137 innings last year), his stuff - specifically his 6.0 K/9 and 1.9 K/BB - is reasonably unattractive compared to other young guns. There's an outside chance the former first-round pick will make his MLB debut with a spot start in 2017, but it would take a slew of injuries for Kaminsky to become a mainstay in the team's rotation.

  • Indians trade Brandon Moss to Cardinals for prospect Rob Kaminsky

The Indians traded outfielder Brandon Moss to the Cardinals for left-handed pitching prospect Rob Kaminsky, according to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. Moss is being traded for the third time in his career. He was part of a three-team trade involving the Red Sox, Pirates and Dodgers at the trade deadline in 2008 and was traded from Oakland to Cleveland in December. The left-handed slugger is batting .217 with 15 home runs, 17 doubles and 50 RBI in 94 games. The one-time All-Star will be playing for his sixth MLB franchise. He has a career .243/.321/.452/.772 slash line. Kaminsky was a late first-round draft pick (28th) in 2013. He is 6-5 with a 2.09 ERA in 17 starts for high Class A Palm Beach this season. He is 14-10 with a 2.15 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 43 career appearances (40 starts) in the minors.
