Ziomek has retired from baseball, Emily Waldon of 2080 Baseball reports.
Ziomek missed the majority of 2016 recovering from thoracic outlet syndrome surgery, and it appears that ailment has led to his decision to call it quits. The 25-year-old owned a 3.07 ERA with 299 strikeouts across 290 minor-league innings (four seasons).

Tigers' Kevin Ziomek: Likely won't pitch again this season
Rotowire
Ziomek has not pitched since May after undergoing surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome, Baseball America's Ben Badler reports.
He made just one start this year with High-A Lakeland prior to needing the surgery. At this point he can safely be rule out for the rest of the minor league season. This is the same injury that once plagued Jaime Garcia, and even had people writing off Garcia as someone was unlikely to ever stay healthy over a full season. Thoracic outlet syndrome involves the compression of blood vessels and nerves that extend from the neck to the shoulder. It's possible Ziomek will be ready to pitch in games once spring training arrives, but this is a major setback in his development.
