Nick Kingham: Heading to Korea
Kingham (oblique) signed a contract with the SK Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization on Wednesday, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.
Kingham started the season with the Pirates but was traded to the Blue Jays in June before suffering an oblique injury and being released in late August. The 28-year-old had a 7.28 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and 46:25 K:BB across 55.2 innings between the two teams.

Nick Kingham: Cut loose by Toronto
The Blue Jays released Kingham (oblique) on Monday.
Toronto could have reassigned Kingham to a minor-league affiliate after he went unclaimed off waivers, but the organization will instead part ways with him entirely and allow him to pursue work elsewhere. Kingham hasn't pitched since Aug. 2 due to a left oblique strain and may have to wait until the offseason to find a new home.

Blue Jays' Nick Kingham: DFA'd by Toronto
The Blue Jays designated Kingham (oblique) for assignment Sunday.
The 27-year-old righty was deemed expendable with the Blue Jays needing a spot on the 40-man roster for Clay Buchholz (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move. Kingham was placed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 3 with a left oblique strain and has yet to begin a minor-league rehab assignment, so he's presumably still recovering from the setback.

Blue Jays' Nick Kingham: Placed on injured list
Kingham was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left oblique strain.
Yennsy Diaz was recalled from Double-A New Hampshire in a corresponding move. Kingham earned the win in his return to the big leagues Friday after throwing 57 pitches across three scoreless innings. The 27-year-old right-hander owns a 3-1 record with a 3.00 ERA since being acquired from the Pirates on June 13.

Kingham had his contract selected from Triple-A Buffalo by the Blue Jays on Friday.
Kingham was designated for assignment in mid-July and subsequently outrighted to Triple-A, but he returns to the Blue Jays after spending a couple weeks in the minors. The 27-year-old posted a 3.50 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB over 18 innings for Toronto after being acquired from the Pirates in June.

Blue Jays' Nick Kingham: Nabs win in return
Kingham (4-2) picked up the win in Friday's 5-2 victory over the Orioles, giving up two hits and a walk over three scoreless innings of relief. He struck out two.
The right-hander took over for opener Wilmer Font in the third inning and held Baltimore's bats in check while tossing 35 of 57 pitches for strikes. Kingham just rejoined Toronto's roster after being DFA'd a couple of weeks ago, and his numbers out of the Jays' bullpen (3.00 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, 14:8 K:BB, and three wins over 21 innings) don't suggest he's about to become a key figure on the team's staff.

Kingham was designated for assignment Thursday but has cleared waivers and will remain in the organization for the time being. Since joining the Blue Jays, Kingham had turned in a 3.50 ERA and 1.61 WHIP across 18 innings out of the bullpen.

Kingham will be bumped from a 40-man roster for the second time this season after the Pirates moved on from him back in June. During his month-long stay with Toronto, Kingham provided a 3.50 ERA in 18 innings out of the bullpen, but a 1.61 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB suggest he wasn't as effective as his surface results might indicate.

Blue Jays' Nick Kingham: Nabs first win as Jay
Kingham (2-1) picked up the win in Thursday's victory over the Angels, allowing one hit in a scoreless 10th inning.
The right-hander hasn't exactly been sharp since arriving from Pittsburgh -- Thursday's appearance was the first time he escaped without a run on his ledger in a Toronto uniform -- but Kingham wound up in the win column thanks to Billy McKinney's walkoff homer. Kingham will likely continue to work in low-leverage situations for now, but he could eventually earn a look in the rotation or as the bulk reliever behind an opener if he puts together a run of success.

Blue Jays' Nick Kingham: Joining Jays on Friday
Kingham is expected to join the Blue Jays' 25-man roster Friday, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.
While his numbers this season indicate he's not really ready to tackle big-league hitters, Toronto's threadbare staff will apparently force the team to give him a look right away after Kingham was designated for assignment by Pittsburgh and then dealt for cash considerations. The right-hander last pitched June 7, so while it's not yet clear whether the Jays intend to use him as a starter or reliever, or both, he'll likely need a bit of time to get stretched out if he's going to join the rotation.

Blue Jays' Nick Kingham: Dealt to Toronto
Kingham was traded from the Pirates to the Blue Jays on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations, Nubyjas Wilborn of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
This deal comes after Kingham was designated for assignment by the Pirates over the weekend. The right-hander showed flashes of promise with Pittsburgh last season, though he struggled to a 9.87 ERA, 2.05 WHIP and 32:17 K:BB in 34.2 innings with the Pirates this season. Given Toronto's lack of starting pitching depth, Kingham could get a shot in the rotation later in the season. Ryan Tepera (elbow) was shifted to the 60-day injured list to free up a 40-man spot for Kingham, who figures to report to Triple-A.

Kingham was designated for assignment by the Pirates on Saturday.
The right-hander has struggled this season with a 9.61 ERA and a 2.02 WHIP in 34.2 innings, so the move was not surprising. Kingham was out of options, so he'll be removed from the 40-man roster. He showed some flashes of promise last season, but his performance this year might dissuade other teams from claiming him off waivers. Michael Feliz was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to take his place in the bullpen.

Pirates' Nick Kingham: Rocked again Friday
Kingham allowed six runs (five earned) on five hits in 2.1 innings while pitching in relief Friday against the Brewers.
The former prospect has given up 32 earned runs on 45 hits and 13 walks in his last five outings covering 24.1 innings. With a 9.61 ERA and 2.02 WHIP in 34.2 overall innings, it wouldn't be surprising to see Pittsburgh designate Kingham for assignment -- even though he's out of options. The seven innings of one-hit ball he threw in his debut against the Cardinals last summer seems millions of miles away.

Through four starts and nine relief appearances this season, Kingham owns an ugly 8.91 ERA and a 2.01 WHIP. Rookie Davis will take his place in the rotation.

Pirates' Nick Kingham: Struggles again
Kingham allowed five runs on six hits with four strikeouts and two walks across three innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Saturday.
The Pittsburgh offense stormed back after Kingham yielded five runs in the first three innings to get him off the hook, but it was still another poor outing for the right-hander. He pitched well his last time on the mound against the Reds, but in his previous two starts, Kingham yielded at least nine hits and six runs. While he's only 1-1, his other numbers are ugly -- 8.91 ERA, 2.01 WHIP and .356 batting average against. He also has 32 strikeouts in 32.1 innings in 13 games, including four starts. If he remains in the rotation, Kingham will be seeking redemption against the Brewers in his next start Friday.

Kingham will stick in the rotation for at least one more turn as the Pirates continue to deal with a slew of injuries. In three starts this season, the right-hander owns an unsightly 8.53 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB in 12.2 innings of work.

Pirates' Nick Kingham: Strikes out five in no-decision
Kingham allowed three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and one walk across 4.2 innings during a no-decision in the first game of a doubleheader against the Reds on Monday.
The 27-year-old turned in his best start of the year. He was one strike away from five scoreless innings, but then the floodgates opened with two outs in the fifth. Because of that, Kingham settled for a no-decision, but owners should still be encouraged by this outing. Kingham is still in a big hole, though, with an 8.28 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and .350 batting average against. He is also 1-1 with 28 strikeouts in 29.1 innings this year.

Kingham is scheduled to start Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader at Cincinnati, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
Kingham has struggled as the primary pitcher in his last two outings with 13 runs allowed on 19 hits over eight innings. The Pirates may want to avoid using an opener due to the doubleheader, so the 27-year-old looks as though he'll work as a traditional starter Monday, not that his fantasy outlook varies much either way.

Pirates' Nick Kingham: Struggles as primary pitcher
Kingham gave up six runs on nine hits and four walks across four innings during Wednesday's 9-3 loss to the Rockies.
Kingham was ultimately spared from being handed the loss since Montana DuRapau allowed three runs as the opener. Regardless, Kingham did little to prove he should continue to see work as a primary pitcher. He now has a 8.76 ERA, 1.99 WHIP and 23:14 K:BB over 24.2 major-league innings this season.
