Uribe was released by the Indians on Friday.
After being designated for assignment by the Indians on Monday, Uribe was officially released Friday. The veteran has had a rough time on the field this season, hitting just .206/.259/.332 with seven home runs and 25 RBI in 73 games. He could get scooped up by another team for the stretch run in the next couple days, but at age 37, Uribe might've played his last game in the majors this season.

Uribe was designated for assignment by the Indians on Monday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Uribe was designated for assignment in order to make room for Andrew Miller on the 25-man roster and Brandon Guyer on the 40-man roster. The veteran was having a poor season offensively, hitting just .206/.259/.332 with seven home runs and 25 RBI in 73 games. It remains to be seen whether he gets significant time with any other MLB club this season.

Indians' Juan Uribe: Out of lineup Sunday
Uribe is out of the lineup Sunday against the Athletics, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
It's the third time in four games Uribe will find himself on the bench, with manager Terry Francona choosing to deploy utility man Jose Ramirez at third base more regularly of late. Ramirez figures to see even more usage in the infield once Michael Brantley (shoulder) rejoins the outfield ranks later this season, so it doesn't appear likely that Uribe will have many opportunities to deliver fantasy value over the final two months.

Indians' Juan Uribe: Held out Wednesday
Uribe is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals, according to Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal.
Uribe started six of the last nine games at third base, but the veteran will get a day off Wednesday with the Indians and Nationals playing an early afternoon affair. Jose Ramirez will man the hot corner for the Indians on Wednesday.

Uribe is out of the lineup Sunday against the Twins.
For the second time this series, Uribe will give way to Jose Ramirez at third base. Due to his ability to play multiple positions, Ramirez hasn't directly taken away at-bats from Uribe for most of this season, but that could happen with more regularity once Michael Brantley (shoulder) returns from the DL to reclaim his everyday post in left field, perhaps as soon as later this week.
