Giants' Miguel Olivo: Fills in for injured backups
Olivo - who was brought in from minor league camp - filled in for Trevor Brown (forearm) and went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in Monday's loss to the Athletics.
The competition for Buster Posey's backup was initially between a couple of the Giants' younger prospects, but with both players suffering injuries this week, Olivo has entered the race. The 37-year-old backstop hasn't hit above .224 since 2010, but should have some pop left in his bat after accruing 145 home runs over 13 seasons.

Giants' Miguel Olivo: Minor league deal with Giants
Olivo signed a minor league contract with the Giants, Baseball America reports.
The 37-year-old will return to the States after spending 2015 with Tijuana of the Mexican League. Olivo has played in parts of 13 major league seasons, but it's hard to imagine he will get a chance with San Francisco in 2016 with Andew Susac and Trevor Brown next in line behind Buster Posey.
