Liranzo held a 6.56 ERA and 46:22 K:BB across 35.2 innings between the Double- and Triple-A levels in 2023 in the Yankees and Nationals organizations. The 28-year-old reliever has spent time on multiple 40-man rosters over the years but has yet to reach the big leagues.

Following Liranzo's demotion, manager Buck Showalter noted that the 23-year-old will handle the same pitching schedule that he faced last season with Bowie. That program consisted of Liranzo starting and pitching around three innings, then working with the coaching during a between-starts bullpen session to work on his delivery and control. Showalter is hoping that Liranzo's unconventional schedule yields better results than it did last season, when the right-hander rung up a 4.85 ERA and 1.49 WHIP across 65 frames.

Liranzo has struggled in 13 games this season with Double-A Bowie, posting an unsightly 6.30 ERA and 1.70 WHIP over 20 innings.
The Orioles added Liranzo to the 40-man roster in November to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. Last year, he posted an impressive 1.87 ERA with 66 strikeouts over 53 combined innings with Low-A Delmarva and Double-A Bowie. The 22-year-old has the tools for potentially becoming a big-league closer, but his current 6.8 BB/9 makes it clear as to what Liranzo needs to work on before jumping levels.
